We are looking for a passionate and motivated Sales Development Representative with a love for selling and a tenacious and methodical approach to prospecting.

Role Description

This is a full-time onsite role based in Naperville, IL,. As a Sales Development Representative, you will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as new business development, lead generation, business communication, and account management. You will play a key role in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and driving revenue growth for Cloudbyz

Key Responsibilities
  • Create a fantastic first impression with prospects and customers while building pipeline for Account Executive
  • Leverage prospecting tools to research companies and identify key decision makers at new accounts
  • Develop customized pitches for different target accounts and personas
  • Responsible for identifying and qualifying potential customers. This involves researching potential leads, reaching out to them through various channels (such as email, social media, and cold calling), and assessing their interest and fit for the company's services.
  • Conduct outreach efforts to initiate contact with potential leads. They craft personalized messages and use strategic communication techniques to engage prospects and pique their interest in the SaaS product.
  • Once a lead shows interest, schedule a meeting or a demo between the lead and a sales representative or account executive. They act as the bridge between potential customers and the sales team, facilitating the transition of leads into the sales pipeline.
  • Follow up with prospects who have shown interest but are not yet ready to make a purchase decision. Apply nurturing strategies to keep these prospects engaged and informed about the product, updates, and any relevant content that might help move them towards a decision.
  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to ensure alignment on target markets, messaging, and sales strategies. Provide feedback from interactions with leads to help refine marketing campaigns and sales approaches.
  • Effective use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools is essential for tracking interactions with prospects, managing leads, and analyzing the sales funnel.Ensure that all information is accurately recorded and maintained in the CRM system.
  • SDRs have specific targets and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as the number of qualified leads generated, meetings scheduled, or opportunities created. Meeting or exceeding these targets is a key responsibility.
  • To effectively sell and promote the Cloudbyz product, SDRs must have a deep understanding of the Clinical Research domain and Cloudbyz products, its features, and benefits, as well as knowledge of the target market and competitors. Continuous learning and staying up-to-date with industry trends are part of the responsibilities.
  • Work with Account Executives to drive outbound prospecting activities, including cold calling, emailing, and communicating our value proposition to decision makers
  • Work with the field marketing and sales teams to drive attendance at Cloudbyz field events such as executive dinners and happy hours
  • Staff tradeshows and follow-up on leads collected at the Cloudbyz booth
Qualifications
  • New Business Development and Lead Generation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of the life sciences industry is a plus
  • Undergraduate degree in life sciences required (e.g. molecular biology, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, biochemistry), Postgraduate welcomed
  • Recent graduate or 1-2 years of internship / work experience in a Sales Development Representative, Business Development Representative function. Alternatively, strong interest in SDR role with some prior life sciences experience
  • Passionate about Cloudbyz’s mission and the acceleration of life sciences research
  • Not afraid to pick up the phone and cold call
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Persistent, self-motivated, and willing to go beyond strict job responsibilities

Compensation & Benefits
  • $45-50k + commission for on-target earnings of $55-65k+ (commissions are uncapped)
